Dell – SonicWALL – NSA Network Security Appliance Series

Comprehensive Next-Generation Firewall Protection Against An Array Of Attacks!

Overview
Utilizing the same architecture found in the flagship SuperMassive Next-Generation Firewall line which was initially developed for the most demanding carriers and enterprises, the Dell SonicWALL Network Security Appliance (NSA) Series delivers that same enterprise-class security and performance while also providing Dell’s acclaimed expertise in delivering ease of use and high value to small and medium-size organizations.

Next-Generation Firewall Security
A suite of tools, including intrusion prevention, gateway anti-virus, and anti-spyware plus application intelligence and control, offer granular control through application blocking, bandwidth management and more. Additional security and connectivity capabilities such as IPSec VPN, SSL VPN, content filtering, anti-spam and enforced client anti-virus make the NSA Series a comprehensive and powerful all-in-one security solution.

Multi-Core Architecture
Single-core and ASIC processors may have been sufficient for the design of traditional stateful firewalls. But NSA Series appliances go above and beyond, with a multi-core design to help ensure that the deep packet inspection provided by the Dell SonicWALL Next-Generation Firewall can scale with your expanding organization. As many as 24 cores spread the network load evenly and protect against extreme performance degradation often present in other technologies when exposed to heavy traffic conditions and malicious content.

Deep Packet Inspection Technology
Proprietary Dell SonicWALL Reassembly-Free Deep Packet Inspection (RFDPI) technology offers extremely high scalability and performance suitable for even the most demanding environments. RFDPI scans traffic on every port, on every protocol and in any direction to provide ultimate visibility and control. The unique design of the RFDPI engine allows it to inspect every byte of a connection—and up to hundreds of thousands of simultaneous connections—in order to categorize application traffic and protect against internal and external threats at both the application and network layer.

Lowered Complexity & Cost
Along with superior power efficiency, Dell SonicWALL NSA Series appliances lower the total cost of ownership by reducing complexity and the time necessary to configure, deploy and maintain security solutions. An intuitive GUI and powerful set-up wizards make it easy to quickly set up and fine-tune network policies, application rules, VPN connections and more.

Dell – SonicWALL – TZ Series Unified Threat Management Firewall

Security & Performance, Hand in Hand!

Overview
The new Dell™ SonicWALL™ TZ Series is the most secure Unified Threat Management (UTM) firewall for small businesses, retail deployments, government organizations, remote sites and branch offices. Unlike consumer-grade products, the TZ Series delivers the most effective anti-malware, intrusion prevention, content/URL filtering and application control capabilities along with the broadest most secure mobile platform support for laptops, smartphones and tablets. It provides full deep packet inspection (DPI) at very high performance levels, eliminating the network bottleneck that other products introduce, and enabling organizations to realize increased productivity gains. The TZ Series is the most secure, sophisticated and widely-deployed security platform on the market today.

Comprehensive Security
The Dell SonicWALL TZ Series advances UTM protection by combining intrusion prevention, gateway anti-virus, anti-spyware, content/url filtering, enforced client anti-virus, and anti-spam services. Additionally, the Dell SonicWALL application intelligence and control feature in the TZ 215 ensures that bandwidth is available for business-critical applications while throttling or blocking unproductive applications. The TZ 215 also offers advanced application traffic analytics and reporting for deep insight into bandwidth utilization and security threats.

Higher performance Protection
Many consumer-grade solutions lack the processing power and security sophistication to scan traffic for all threats without slowing down the network. Unlike these consumer solutions, the TZ Series utilizes patented Dell SonicWALL Reassembly-Free Deep Packet Inspection® (DPI) technology1 to examine traffic simultaneously across all ports without introducing latency to the network. As a result, organizations are not required to make a choice between advanced DPI security and network performance. With the TZ Series, they can have both.

Flexible Remote Access
The TZ Series includes additional advanced networking features such as IPSec and SSL VPN. The TZ Series is the only available UTM firewall that provides native VPN remote access client for Apple® iOS, Google® Android™, Windows, Mac OS and Linux. This unique client also supports Clean VPN™, which decontaminates threats from VPN traffic. Providing the most secure support for mobile platforms, only Dell SonicWALL delivers full malware scanning of SSL encrypted traffic and application control for Android and iOS devices.

Secure Wireless Connectivity
The TZ Series also provides Clean Wireless, combining UTM with high-speed 802.11n wireless to encrypt traffic while also ensuring the integrity of all traffic passing through. In addition, the TZ Series offers an option for 3G2 wireless WAN and analog modem connectivity for use as the primary or failover connection.

Breakthrough Simplicity
Easy to understand and easy to use, The TZ firewall solution is built upon the industry’s most advanced object-based management operating system—SonicOS. Thanks to this intuitive interface, you don’t have to sacrifice ease of use for power. Now, distributed enterprises and SMBs can experience enterprise-class high-performance protection at a lower total cost of ownership.

SonicWALL TotalSecure
Every TZ Series appliance is also available as a Dell SonicWALL TotalSecure solution, a convenient and affordable solution that combines the hardware and all the services needed for comprehensive network protection from a wide range of network threats—including viruses, spyware, worms, Trojans, keyloggers and more.

SonicWALL – TZ Series Model Lineup
The TZ Series (TZ 105, TZ 205, & TZ 215) provide intelligent protection, business-class performance, advanced networking features and configuration flexibility in an affordable desktop appliance that’s easy to set up, operate and manage.

Available TZ Models:
TZ 105

More Angles Covered, Less Cameras Needed

How about the cost and effectiveness of seven plus cameras in one single unit ?  That’s what a 360 degree view camera can do for you.

Placed in the middle of a room on the ceiling, these single lens cameras record a 360 degree viewing area with a hemispheric fisheye lens.  Then, with recording software, you can actually break up the image into individual outlooks so they look like multiple cameras. They are IP based and bring that same level of flexibility that all network cameras do: viewing from anywhere, viewing from multiple devices, network storage, etc.

That’s one camera, complete view, doing the work of multiple cameras, depending on ceiling height and room angles.  These would work best in restaurants and retail stores, or other open space formats.  The cameras can be costly with top models ranging from approximately $600 to $1400.  But, since it can take the place of multiple cameras, with multiple cable runs, lengthy installation times, could be considerably cheaper for the business owner.

Make Sure You Get Your Money’s Worth

You wouldn’t want to buy your data and phone equipment out of the trunk of a car.  And, you wouldn’t want it installed by some kid who “knows a little about taking a computer apart”, right?

You spend a lot of your company’s budget to get the best system and products for your business, so, you deserve to have them be authentic, quality products and installed by the best qualified technicians.

Here is a check list to help verify you are getting your money’s worth:

Make sure the technician or engineer who installs your equipment is fully trained and certified on the product they are installing.

You wouldn’t hire a plumber to install and electrical outlet, right?  It’s better to have someone who truly understands the system, has been through a certification process and has the right training to properly install your new equipment.

Verify the vendor you choose is authorized by the manufacturer to sell the equipment they are installing.

There are lots of contractors out there selling systems they are not authorized to sell. Check their status with the manufacturer.  This could really impact your warranty status and void any claims you might need should the system falter.  It will also impact your ability to reach higher levels of technical support should it become necessary.

Check the references of the system you are purchasing.
There are a lot of little start up phone systems and hosted services out there.  Find out how long they have been in business, how many systems are out there and look at some case studies.  Any manufacturer worth their salt will be able to provide this information readily.  Be leery of any manufacturer that hasn’t been in business for very long.  Flashing lights and bells & whistles are cool, but if they don’t work consistently with how you need the system to perform specifically for you, they are worthless.

Know what features you need, and what features you want ahead of time.

If you have questions, ask them!  Knowledge is power.

Get it in writing and don’t sign off until you get everything agreed upon.

Verify the products you receive are new and not “re-manufactured” or used unless already agreed upon.

Read the fine print and verify that you have taken care of all your responsibilities for the install.

Check the references of the installation company.

How long have they been in business?  How many people do they have for a support staff?  What are their emergency protocols?  Have they sold any like systems?  DO call their reference list.

There are a lot of horror stories out there.

Protect yourself and don’t blow the budget on something that doesn’t work for your business.

What is SIP Trunking (Telephone Lines)?

SIP trunking is a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and streaming media service based on the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) by which Internet telephony service providers (ITSPs) deliver telephone services to customers equipped with SIP-based private branch exchange (IP-PBX)

Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking is the use of voice over IP (VoIP) to facilitate the connection of a private branch exchange (IP-PBX) to the Internet.

In effect, the Internet replaces the conventional telephone company/telephone line, allowing a company to communicate with landline and mobile telephone users worldwide. (SIP is an IETF standard for initiating interactive multimedia user sessions)

In order to take advantage of SIP trunking, an enterprise must have an IP-PBX that connects to all internal end users and an Internet telephony service provider (ITSP) or a gateway that serves as the interface between a NON IP-PBX and the ITSP.

The MAIN Result of utilizing SIP Trunks is Reduced Overall Cost and Enhanced Functionality & Reliability.

With SIP trunking, subscribers can:
•Initiate and receive local calls
•Initiate and receive long-distance calls
•Make emergency calls (911)
•Access directory assistance
•Connect to landline and mobile telephone sets

For enterprises wanting to make full use of their installed IP-PBXs and not only communicate over IP within the enterprise, but also outside the enterprise a SIP trunk provided by an Internet Telephony Service Provider (ITSP) to connect to the traditional Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) network is the solution. Unlike in traditional telephony, where bundles of physical wires were once delivered from the service provider to a business, a SIP trunk allows a company to replace these traditional fixed PSTN lines with PSTN connectivity via a SIP trunking service provider on the Internet.

SIP trunks can offer significant cost-savings for enterprises, eliminating the need for local PSTN gateways or costly T1/PRIs.

There are three components necessary to successfully deploy SIP trunks: a PBX with a SIP-enabled trunk side, an enterprise edge device understanding SIP and an Internet telephony or SIP trunking service provider.

The IP-PBX (telephone system)
In most cases the PBX is an IP-based PBX, communicating with all endpoints over IP, but it may just as well be a traditional digital or analog PBX. The sole requirement is that an interface for SIP trunking connectivity is available.

The enterprise border element (Firewall)
The PBX on the LAN connects to the ITSP via the enterprise border element. The enterprise edge component can either be a firewall with complete support for SIP or an edge device connected to the firewall, handling the traversal of the SIP traffic.

The ITSP
On the Internet, the ITSP (Internet Telephone Service Provider) provides connectivity to the PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) for communication with mobile and fixed phones.

AccessLine is our preferred ITSP.

About AccessLine
For over 20 years, AccessLine Communications has been meeting the exacting communications quality standards of Fortune 50 companies like IBM, Hewlett Packard, Standard Register, Federal Express, Sun/Oracle, and Internap. Now, AccessLine offers this proven network performance to you.
