AVAYA IP Office R10 – IP500 V2 Control Unit

IP Office 500 Version 2 (IP500 V2) is a modular communications solution that scales from 2 to 384 extensions and up to 1000 subscribers over 32 sites in a Small Community Network (SCN). Not only can it support traditional analog and digital desk phones, it can also support IP and SIP based desk phones. Because it supports various types of trunk options like Analog, BRI, PRI (T1/E1), and SIP, the IP500 V2 is the ideal solution that satisfies the needs of the small and medium business.

With IP Office Preferred Edition and Unified Communications Module (UCM) installed in IP500 V2 system, additional unified communications features can be enabled like one-X Portal, Avaya Communicator, and Web Collaboration.

Not only can the IP500 V2 be operated in a stand-alone model, it can also be deployed as a gateway for Branch deployment to Avaya Aura or expansion unit to IP Office Server Edition or IP Office Select.

The IP500 V2 Control Unit contains four slots to house extension cards and VCM (Voice Compression Module) cards. There are two types of cards; base cards and daughter cards. Base cards include a front panel and ports for cable connections. Daughter cards can be added to a base card in order to provide additional facilities (typically trunk connections). The base cards come in a variety of types including digital station cards, analog phone cards, combination cards that include trunks and stations, 32 and 64 channel VCM cards, an expansion card; required to connect the maximum number of expansion units, and a UCM (Unified Communication Module) for Preferred Edition and applications support. The daughter cards, which are attached to certain base cards, include support for analog trunks, BRI trunks, and PRI trunks.

The expansion Units are preconfigured to provide a specific number of analog trunks, digital stations, and analog terminals.

Key Features:

  • • Proven reliability, dependable security: Contains no moving parts, such as hard drives or fans, which could fail or cause the unit to overheat.
  • • Built-in resiliency: For businesses with multiple locations, the IP500 V2 appliance can fail over to an appliance at a second site, delivering continuous operation and maintaining features across sites without the need for redundant hardware at each site.
  • • Flexibility: The IP500 V2 appliance can support IP, analog, and digital phones and/or trunks, all on the same system at the same time.
