Peace of Mind

Not too long ago, having a Video Surveillance System installed as a security measure was seen as a drastic, expensive endeavor to take on. Now days, with the accessibility and affordability of technology, actually NOT having some form of Video Surveillance installed seems like an odd decision to make. Advances in technology have allowed for major advancements (along with significant reductions in costs) in Video Surveillance quality, recording capability and, importantly, affordability.

ECS is an Authorized Reseller and Installer of Video Surveillance systems located in Seattle, WA & Portland, OR.

Buy 4K NVR not DVR

4K is 4 X Higher Resolution than 1080p

NVR = Network Video Recorder (NEW Technology – CAT5e, CAT6 Data Cable)

DVR (OLD Technology – Coax Cabling)

NVR systems use Power over Ethernet (PoE) to Power the Cameras over the CAT5e/CAT6 Ethernet Cabling.

NVR based systems are more flexible and complex than DVR systems. As NVR systems process the video data at the camera rather than on the recorder, the cameras in NVR systems are much more robust than their DVR counterparts.

NVRs use IP Cameras

DVRs use Analog Cameras

The size and rigidity of coaxial cables can make installation more challenging. The coaxial cable is wider in diameter than Ethernet cables used with NVR systems which can make it more difficult to run cables in tight spaces. Coaxial cables also tend to be more rigid, compounding this problem.

Coaxial cable does not provide power to the camera, there are actually two cables included within one covering, a power and video cable.

In a DVR system, the recorder does not provide power to the cameras

DVR security systems are less flexible than their NVR counterparts in terms of camera type and mounting options.

DVR systems transmit analog video signal, which results in a lower quality image compared to NVR systems.

Coaxial cables do not natively transmit audio signals, and DVR recorders usually have a limited number of audio input ports.

NVR recorders receive a digital signal from the cameras, so video quality is better than compared to a DVR at the same resolution.

Ethernet cables (NVR) carry audio, so all cameras with microphones could record audio to the NVR.

NVR systems tend to have better picture quality, as well as easier installation, increased flexibility, and native support for audio on every camera that has a microphone.

NVR systems are more expensive than comparable DVR systems.

MAKE THE MOST OUT OF YOUR ON HOLD

You could keep the standard music file that came with your phone system.  Thousands of businesses use this same file and you can sound just like them.  Unless you think your business is better and more unique. In that case, you might want to use something a little more pleasing than generic computerized music. You can use music that adds to your image, builds on to your brand and is well worth listening to.  Include messaging, and you can do even more…

Give your callers something else…something better!

When your phone rings, it’s “a call for help.”  Your callers have a problem that they want solved, or they need or want something.  They’ve seen your website, now they want more.  So tell them about it while they wait on hold. Tell them about a product or service you offer…maybe it’s something they didn’t know you had or a service they need.  Imagine, what that could do for your bottom line!

Give your callers what they want… information: about you, your products and your services; information about the quality and value you offer, and information about what makes you different from the competition. Give your callers information that they need to make their buying decision…  why they should buy from you and they will respond.

Put it all on your phone system…then sit back and watch your business grow!
